Head Instructor – Women’s Self-Defense & Empowerment
Liya Pantsalashvili

Director of “My Mafia” club (Russia)
Born in the industrial city of Samara, Russia, Liya Pantsalashvili grew up with a passion for martial arts, earning ranks in karate at an early age. But it was a personal turning point—a difficult divorce—that led her to explore something different. What began as a way to regain control of her life soon evolved into a powerful mission: teaching others how to protect themselves and thrive through the discipline of Krav Maga. Determined to grow, Liya relocated to Moscow, Russia’s capital and one of the world’s busiest and boldest cities. It was there that she fully committed to training and teaching Krav Maga professionally. In 2013, she completed her first women’s instructor course in Israel, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Later that same year, she completed the full instructor program in Moscow. These experiences shaped her unique approach—blending discipline, realism, and deep empathy. In 2019, after years of dedication, Liya achieved the rank of Expert 1, certified under the examination of Ilya Dunsky, and opened her flagship studio: My Mafia. Located in the heart of Moscow, My Mafia quickly became the largest women’s self-defense and safety training center in Russia, empowering hundreds of women every year. With classes in Krav Maga, combat fitness, and striking arts, the studio has become a community hub for strength, confidence, and resilience. Liya has been teaching for over 12 years, with a primary focus on women’s self-defense and instructor development. Her students include everyone from working professionals to women in protective roles. Many have trained with her for more than five to seven years, a testament to the trust and results she delivers. Her international training includes advanced courses and camps in Israel and Europe, continually refining her knowledge and bringing the latest insights back to her students in Moscow. Beyond the mat, Liya is a public speaker and entrepreneur, regularly appearing at women’s forums to talk about personal safety, empowerment, and building confidence through self-defense. She’s also a Candidate for Master of Sport in bench press, trains in boxing and Muay Thai, and enjoys travel, food, and spontaneous getaways with her husband. Liya represents the best of what ID Krav Maga stands for: real training for real life, a commitment to excellence, and a belief that self-defense is not just a skill—it’s a way of life.
